This custom tour of Ireland is provided by
Brendan Vacations

3/06/12  Depart BWI on Continental Air (thru Newark) for your overnight flight to Dublin.

3/07/12  Welcome to Dublin, Ireland's lively capital city! Arrive at 7am and be transferred to your hotel, the
Burlington Hotel. Your Classic room has been pre-reserved so it is guaranteed for an early check-in! At 2pm, embark on a city tour with a local guide that brings life to Dublin's grand archtiectural treasurs and history stretching back more than 1,000 years. Visit St. Patrick's Cathedral, tour Dublin's beautiful Georgian squares, walk the cobbled courtyards of Trinity College to its famed library and its truly unique world treasure - the 8th century Book of Kells. Later, meet your Tour Director for a Welcome Drink, then join the "Dublin Literary Pub Crawl." You are transported away from everyday life to the richness of Ireland's famous writers including Joyce, Shaw, Yeats, Wilde, Beckett and Behan. Each group is led by actors on a trail from pub to pub - no props, no lights, no make-up, just the voice and personality of the actor. Nothing like it exists anywhere else in the world. Overnight Burlington Hotel

3/08/12  After driving through the Curragh, the heart of Ireland's equestrian country, view the unforgettable
Rock of Cashel. The dramatic limestone rock crowned with secular and religious buildings dominates the flat countryside for mils around. Travel on to County Cork and the village of Blarney. There is time to stop at Blarney Woollen Mills to shop and to visit Blarney Castle with its magical stone that gives the gift of eloquence for a kiss. Then on to bustling Killarney. The town on the lakes is famous for its lively atmosphere, full of what the Irish call "craic" - Gaelic for FUN!  Dinner will be served tonight in the hotel dining room at the Killarney Towers. (B,D) Overnight Killarney Towers

3/09/12  Travel the road that winds around the beautiful Ring of Kerry. Stopping at Torc Waterfall for photos, enjoy a leisurely hike with a qualified guide. Walk along the lakeshore and past the farmlands of the Muckross Estate, admiring the spendid scenery. Walk by the West Meadow Bay and visit Muckross Abbey. The hike travels over wooded paths and lakeshore trails. While there are no mountains to climb, walkers need to be fit and have good walking shoes, sunscreen and raingear. For those who do not want to join the hike, the motorcoach will return you to Killarney, where the rest of the day is at leisure. (B) Overnight Killarney Towers

3/10/12  This morning, travel north to the spectacular
Cliffs of Moher rising approximately 700 feet above the pounding Atlantic waves. Next, on to Limerick for an Irish Coffee at your hotel. Tonight, why not attend the optional Medieval banquet at Bunratty Castle? It's the experience of a lifetime! (B) Overnight George Boutique Hotel

3/11/12 This morning you will transfer to the historic, luxurious Dromoland Castle, a Renaissance structure built in the 16th centurym and once the royal seat of the O'Brien clan. Set on a 375 acre estate, the Castle retains priceless reminders of a magnificent past with its woodcarvings, stone statuary, hand-carved paneling, and fine antique furnishings. There are numerous optional activities available to fill your day, such as horseback riding, boat ride on the lake, golf, spa, clay shooting, archery & tennis Or enjoy High Tea in the drawing room after exloring the grounds.
