I have found that there ain't no surer way to find out whether you like people or hate them than to travel with them.....Mark Twain. |
WHY EURAILPASS? Traveling by train is by far the best way to see the countryside and cities of Europe. The Eurailpass gives you unlimited rail travel in 17 Eurailpass countries and is also valid on some major shipping lines. Depending on which option you choose, it is valid on a continuous basis for 5 days, 21 days, 1 month, 2 months or 3 months. This gives you the utmost flexibility by allowing you to travel on any day within the chosen validity. For most trains you don’t need reservations, allowing you to change your itinerary on the spur of the moment.
WHICH EURAILPASS? Your choice depends on the following: + Amount of time you have
+ Amount of money you have + Class of service: the standard Eurailpass provides 1st class travel. First class travel is more physically comfortable than 2nd class and the railcars are much less crowded. There is also a "Eurailpass Youth" option, which provides 2nd class travel to people under the age of 26. The advantage of this pass is that it is about 30% cheaper than the standard Eurailpass and allows you to travel the way most Europeans do: 2nd class.
Note that there are other options, such as a pass that provides some savings by two people traveling together and "flexi" passes that allow you so many days of travel within a given timeframe.
